If you have unexplained fainting or syncope episodes, we may recommend you undergo a tilt-table test to help diagnose a cause. Under the supervision of our staff, you will lie on a special table.
As the table moves to a vertical position, we will measure your blood pressure and heart rate to see how they respond to the force of gravity. If your blood pressure drops and you feel faint or lightheaded, it may indicate that your brain isn’t receiving enough blood.
A tilt-table test comes with minor risks and takes up to two hours to complete. After the test, you will be free to leave and return to normal activities. Based on the results, we may offer a treatment plan or suggest further testing.
